The Travel North Group of Companies was founded in 1966 and has been in our family ever since. It has grown to become a major tourist operation in the Top End of the Northern Territory.

We saw the need to diversify to ensure that we remain attractive to all visitors, and very early in our history we entered into the motel and backpacker accommodation market, acquired camping and caravan grounds, opened the 24 - hour BP Roadhouse, and finally entered into the Adventure Tour and Safari Package holiday market.

In 2001 we became the first company in the Northern Territory to gain official accreditation. We ensure that we meet all the requirements to offer consistent service to our clients and are proud to show the Official Accreditation Logo on all our products.

Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge Boat Tours undoubtedly is the jewel in not only our crown but also that of the Katherine Region. Nitmiluk Tours, who operate the commercial operation, is a joint venture between Travel North and the local Jawoyn Aboriginal people who are traditional owners of Nitmiluk National Park. This partnership has been successful for over 10 years and is something that we are all very proud of.
