Departing Adelaide on The Ghan travelling north towards Spencer Gulf, Port Augusta and the stunning Flinders Ranges before making its way into Alice Springs(the Red Centre), where you'll have plenty of time to look around town or join an organised tour before reboarding. Enjoy the scenery as you watch a desert sunset as you continue your journey north overnight. Arrive in Katherine bright and early and embark on the beginnings of your Top End Highlights. Depart The Ghan to join a boat cruise at the outstanding and spectacular Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge followed by a memorable visit to Mataranka. Territory Manor being first on the list of attractions - see the Barramundi fish feeding at the billabong. Then onto Mataranka Homestead to visit the magical Thermal Pool (constant 34 degrees) in time for a quick swim (it is said to have therapeutic powers). We then visit Elsey Homestead Replica, this was built when filming "We of the Never Never". This day ends around 5.30 pm in Katherine. Depart Katherine at 7.00 am for an exciting 2 days in Kakadu.Visit places like Mary River, Waterfall Creek (Gunlom) then onto Cooinda, home of Yellow Water Cruises. Final day of your tour visit Nourlangie Rock, Ubirr, Bowali Visitors Centre, East Alligator and so much more arriving in Darwin approx. 5.30 pm
