Depart from the Historic Springvale Homestead for your boat journey downstream taking in the tranquil sounds of the majestic Katherine river. Enjoy your giuide's commentary of the river's eco system and its inhabitants along the way. If you keep your eyes peeled you may spot some yourself! We will stop along the way to look at the many trees and plants lining the river banks that hold an abundance of bush foods. This food has been used by Jawoyn people for hundreds of years. Our last stop will be at a bush camp set under large silver melaleuca trees, where we will have some refreshments while sitting back and taking in the surrounds. You will get the opportunity to try even more bush foods such as the illawarra plum jam, Kakadu plum jam with fresh damper, tea, coffee and orange juice before returning back to Springvale Homestead. Although the boat is covered we strongly recommend a good hat, plenty of 30+ sunscreen and solid footwear (sand shoes). Sandles and shoes with heels are not recommended as there is approx 600 metres of walking through soft sand.
