Depart approximately 8:00am from Katherine accommodation and drive south along the Stuart Highway towards the township of Mataranka- Land of the Never Never. Points of interest will be spotted along the way. This part of the journey takes just over an hour. Visit the unique rammed earth constructed Territory Manor for a brief stop and morning tea. Here you will see giant silver Barramundi being hand fed at the water lily covered Billabong. On arrival at historic Mataranka Homestead, take the opportunity to tour the replica of the original Elsey Homestead, used in the filming of “We of the Never Never”. Then, take the beautiful palm lined walkway for a swim in the famous Thermal Pool (said to have therapeutic powers). Enjoy lunch at the Territory Manor before departing for Katherine. Arrive in Katherine approximately 2pm. Tour approximately 6 hours.
